500ml, bottle, bb. 07.03.2010, shared with friends. Slowly fading, bubbly, beige head over a very deep, rosewood body. Display of laceworks on the glass. Promising smell of smoked malts. Bacon-like flavour with mid-sweet malts behind. Medium bodied. Another good one from this Finnish brewery (Haltimaa, Kilpis 15.08.2009).

Bottle, 5.5%. Nice smoked aroma, slightly sweet and with some burnt wood notes. Almost black colour, seems clear. Very small head, looks off-white. Good smoky flavour, balanced by a little sweetness. Mild coffee finish. Well-balanced.

Bottle 50 cl. Courtesy of fonefan. Pours a dark brown with a tint of red and a small, rough beige head. Distinct smoke aroma - Bamberg-style. Medium body, sweet dark malts and a little licorice and again distinct smoky accents. Lightly bitter finish. 220809

Bottled, thanks oh6gdx! Very dark brown, tarry nose. Mid- sweet and fairly light bodied with slim but dense body. Salty and tarry , heavily smoky. Tasty but simple.

Botttle @ Danish Summer Gathering, 2009. Pours dark brown with a creamy head and lacings. Heavy buhloone and ashy. Extremely heavy and unbalanced smoked beer. Medium bodied.

Dark brown with a tiny beige head. Sweet aroma with roasted malt, smoke and leather notes. Flavour was quite smoked with roasted malt, caramel, liquerice and ham notes. Finished smoked and bitter.

Bottled. A red-brown beer with a lazing off-white head. The aroma has notes is quite smoky combined with roasted malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of smoke, rope, and roasted malt, which lends it a bit of acidity, leading to a dry woody and smoky finish.

Flaske 0,5l. Kullsvart. OK skumdannelse. Svak behagelig røykaroma. Avrundet smak. Fortsatt røyk men med undertoner av bær, sjokolade og kaffe. Svakt bitter ettersmak. Et veldig godt avstemt røykøl!

bottle shard by faroeviking pitch black, thick snooth head. aroma of roasted stuff, coffee, chocolate, smoked notes. flavor is roeasted or smoked meat, round, roeasted bmalts, caramel. this beer is somewhere between roasted and smoked, and the grill that they used probably did have some really spicy beefs going on.

Bottle from Tbone, thanks! Deep dark brown color, almost black. Apple syrup, laurel and licorice in the aroma, with just a hint of smoke. Smoky flavor, with laurel and licorice. Apple syrup. Odd combination, the smoke and the almost sugary sweetness. Interesting beer.
