Appearance - 7 | Aroma - 5 | Flavor - 5.5 | Texture - 7 | Overall - 6
Pours black, small layer of tanned head. Scent is way more soy than expected. Overpowering... Unpleasant even.. Waauw... Taste is roasty, medium thick, soy, ashy, chocolate. Age shows (always cellared in great condition by myself, had it for a few years, so perhaps bad practises before that?) Tastes like an aged stout, extra's are damp cellar and SOY. Cognac isn't recognizable, neither is oak. Neither is a basebeer thats anything above... OK . WHAT a let down. Is this a fake bottle? had it been poorly stored? is the second batch THIS much less good, or has my palate changed THAT much (and not with any other beers I retried ) ? Who's to say... But the dissapointement is REAL in this one. As far as I remember, I got it trough a non-beer friend in Sweden, straight from systembolaget...

2022. Nip Bottle. Pours Black with a beige head. Roasted, Wood, Chocolate , coffee and barrel. Soft and Rich. Incredibly Well rounded. Stunner. 4.5

From tap at Borefts 2018. Roasty aroma with chocolate and tangy cognac, wood, dark fruits, cognac is a bit sharp, some alcohol, dark roasted malt. Flavour is bittersweet, body is full. Posh brew, though the cognac was a bit sharper than I expected.

Svart med beige skum. Lukter alkohol, vått trevirke og svisker. Smaker salt lakris, alkohol og svisker.

Bottle, 2022 version brewed 17/2 2022, 13.4%. Color: Black, thin brown head. Aroma: Roasted malt, licorice, coffee, Cognac. Taste: Mocha, coffee, some licuorice, fruity and boozy Cognac, roasted malt in the background. Sweetish hints of honey. Oily, dense and dry-ish mouthfeel. Smooth. Full body, below average carbonation. Very long lasting finish. Medium sweet, moderate bitterness going towards medium bitterness towards and at the dry, almost a bit powdery finish. Very well balanced, nice complexity. Superb slow.sipper!

Årgång 2022, 13.4% ABV Svart med ett litet skum. Doft av honung, lakrits, rostad malt och cognac. Len smak av honung, rostad malt, lakrits, ekfat och cognac. Kärv och värmande alkohol på slutet.
Bottle. Pours a dark black hue with a medium brown hue. A big barrel nose, woody. A bit hot, roast, licorice, big sweet fruit, ash.

Bottle thanks to Doug. Pours dark brown, small tan head, light lacing. Dark roasted malts, grapes, chocolate, raisins, leather. Very good.

250ml bottle pours out black topped with a brown head. Nose is sweet caramel toffee chocolate cognac booze. Taste is more of the nice sweet malts chocolate ash cognac lots going on.
