16 ounce can into snifter glass; no can dating, but was just released locally. Pours opaque dark brown/black color with a 1-2 finger dense and rocky khaki head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Thick soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, cream, roasted nuts, toasted biscuit, and dark bread/crust; with lighter notes of molasses, licorice, raisin, fig, date, smoke, charcoal, wood, herbal, grass, pepper, pine, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of dark/roast/bready malts, cocoa nibs, lactose, and light-moderate earthy hop/fruity yeast notes; with great strength. Taste of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, cream, roasted nuts, toasted biscuit, and dark bread/crust; with lighter notes of molasses, licorice, raisin, fig, date, smoke, charcoal, wood, herbal, grass, pepper, pine, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness. Light pine, herbal, woody, grassy, peppery hops; and roast/charred bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, cream, roasted nuts, toasted biscuit, dark bread/crust, molasses, licorice, dark fruit, smoke, charcoal, wood, herbal, grass, pepper, pine, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malts, cocoa nibs, lactose, and light-moderate earthy hop/fruity yeast flavors; with an awesome roast/hop bitter/sweet balance; and no cloying, acrid, astringent flavors after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering hop/char bitterness. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; with a very smooth, creamy/silky/bready/grainy, and lightly sticky/chalky mouthfeel that is great. Minimal warming alcohol for 8.5%. Overall this is a fantastic imperial milk stout! All around fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malts, cocoa nibs, lactose, and light-moderate earthy hop/fruity yeast flavors; very smooth and easy to drink for the ABV, with the mellowly bitter/drying finish; awesomely soft feel. Amazing balance of rich malts, cocoa nibs, and lactose flavors; with nice earthy hop presence/balance, and restrained English yeast fruitiness. Light residual sweetness with lingering dryness. A highly enjoyable offering, and spot on English style example.

Pour is a black motor oil black with a huge tan head. Aroma is a nice roasted malt and sweet sugar with a decent blast of chocolate. Flavor is a silky sweet mouthfeel with plenty of sweet chocolate and a decent roasted malt. This was a very rich and flavorful milk stout. Plenty of rich chocolate syrup with a nice roasted malt.
