Molasses and tar nose, not overpowering. Jet black, thin disappearing brown head. Creosote, molasses, licorice in distinct phases. Vanilla finish. Full body, easy carbonation. Rich and robust, but not overly sweet.

16 oz can. Aroma is dark chocolate, and cacao. Flavor is rich throughout with waves of chocolate. Vanilla from milk sugar. Good full body. The stout is a little bit over carbonated, which throws it off just a tad. Overall, good flavor.

16oz can pours out dark brown topped with a small tan head. Nose is dark chocolate ash roast malts and some pitfruit. Taste is more of the nice roast malts chocolate ash and a little spice.

Tasting at Erik's, can
Black colour. Chocolatey, moderately sweet, seemingly thin for that ABV. Decent beer.

On tap at Tap and Handle, Fort Collins. Black with beige head. Caramel, malty, lactic, some chocolate, quite empty. Sweetish. Medium bodied.

Dark brown, mostly coffeeish aroma. On the palate, toast, roast and I guess I'd say it's a bit sourish towards the finish. I wouldn't call this balanced. Not really working for me.

16 oz. can, pours black with a tiny beige head. Aroma brings out dark cocoa, graham cracker and cereal malts. Flavour is quite earthy and spicy, with graham crackery, spiciness, and medium roast. Spicy, earthy, bitter finish. Incompetent beer.

1 pint can. Pours a very dark brown with moderate tan head. Aromas of lactose, plastic, sweet dark fruit and toasted malts. Flavors of powdery dark chocolate, lactose and oily roasted malts.
