The dark member of the Švyturys traditional collection which has been brewed since 1965. Awarded multiple times worldwide, the dark red Švyturio Baltijos beer stands outs for its flavour of roasted malt, caramel and brown bread. It has a profound sweetness of malt with a light aftertaste of dried plums and chocolate.

500 ml bottle from Melbourne Beach Market. Pours a crystal clear gold dark bronze color with a khaki head and very good retention. Good lacing. Caramel and dark malt aroma, with just a hint of skunk. Flavor of Euro pale malt and caramel malt, with some dark fruit and a light skunky finish. Not bad, but it looks better than it tastes. Medium body. Medium-light carbonation. Not bitter.

Clear chestnut brown, with a creamy off-white head and a sweet malt and caramel aroma, with hints of black cherries. The mouthfeel is smooth and medium bodied, with sweet fruit and malt flavours predominating before a dry and slightly bitter finish

500ml bottle from Sofia Eastern European shop, Telford. Pours a hazed deep amber, frothy off-white head. Pleasant toffee amber malt nose. Rich toffee comes through to taste alongside some gentle nutty malt, but feels a bit light and thin overall. Fine Autumnal evening sipper.
