Rooted in Belgian tradition, this refreshing wheat ale, or witbier, is our interpretation of a classic style. Its hazy pale color and creamy white head result from the ample amounts of wheat used in the recipe. The addition of raw oats contributes to a smooth mouthfeel while the Belgian yeast imparts a complex yet dry finish.

Can from The Davis Beer Shoppe. Pours light, bright gold with a large creamy white head. Aroma of wheat and yeast. Med body. Flavor is clove/banana/coriander. Dryish. Lightly bitter. Arguably hits the style.

Lemon, coriander, wheat malt, and straw aroma. Cloudy pale yellow with moderate white head. Lightly sweet lemon, coriander, wheat malt, and mildly bitter straw flavor. Good body. Very pleasant - minimal sweetness but with nice witbier characteristics.

High hopes for this $2 bottle. Initially, it tries to present itself as a euro beer, bottle is even 11.2 oz? WTF? Hey, this is 12 oz can country, colorado; or is this state a safe zone for illegals, not really part of the good old USA? ?!? How many more millions will you make selling 11.2 oz 330mL bottles? Come on now, give me a money's worth & a break, willl yah?! Yer only saving an ounce, what is that in mL? Metric mexico is down there and we are the old kings rule, hehehehe. Well, it looks like a pretty decent white beldgy. Smell is a tad volatile for a less than 5%-er. Actually, when I picked this off the shelf I did think it was a beglian from across the sea! For being a slightly warm beer, it is quite civilized and friendly. Decent experience. Could drink a couple more of these. Yea, those small bottles end up being quite sexy. Not bad, but with a name like funkwerks, I was hoping it would be a little more tart, then it would have been great. Good find.
