This big mother of a Russian Imperial Stout is often considered one of our true classics. Despite the 13% ABV, you'll find Black Albert to be dangerously drinkable. With its thick, tar-like body, it's definitely a sipper, but the alcohol is very well-hidden.

Appearance is jet black, no light coming through whatsoever, a big tan/brown head which quickly reduces to half a finger and hangs around. Aroma- smells decadent. Chocolate cake, espresso coffee, chocolate fudge, roast malt, hint of leather, dark, boozy fruit hints, a bit of vanilla. Taste- loads of dark, cocoa-rich chocolate, espresso coffee, fudge syrup, vanilla, cherry sweetness, almonds, marzipan hints, caramel-covered chocolate. Smoky, tobacco notes come through as it warms. Thick, velvety and dense mouthfeel- you could probably stand a spoon up in this. Lasting, clingy sweet finish. Tastes nowhere near 13%. Incredible. 2015 edition. Appearance is black as oil, with a small tan head. Sucks the light out of the room. 5. Aroma- booze, tar, roast malt, espresso, treacle toffee, tiramisu, port wine, burnt fruitcake, liqueur chocolate, rich Christmas pudding. 10. Taste- thick chocolate, brownies, treacle (the kind that has burnt to the bottom of the pan), chocolate fudge, Irish coffee, leather, trace of alcohol, earthy scorched malt. Syrupy mouthfeel, with a good amount of carbonation. Very sweet at the end. A bit more thick and boozy than the last edition. 9/5.

33cl bottle @ Cosmic comic Cafe. Bbe 05/2015. Black color, brown head. Sugary, ashy aroma, some chocolate and mild spicy notes. Flavor has suryp, ash, vanilla notes and molasses. Super sweet. Nah, don’t get the hype here.

2 bottles (BB 2018, BB 2013) at the overpriced beer tasting, thanks for sharing guys! Pours dark brown-black with light brown head. The head stays for a second. Aroma is dark chocolate, licorice, fruity notes. Flavor is sweet, dark chocolate, licorice, malt. Overall: I actually preferred the fresh one, it was more punchy. Nevertheless, both versions were great.

Barrel Aged No 14. Vintage 2012. Momentami lekko kwaskowate. Alkohol starannie ukryty.

Matured for 4 years. Pitch black with tan head. Aroma of dark chocolate, raisins, figs, roasted coffee and liquorice. Well balanced taste of licorice, dried fruit, coffee and caramel together with a smooth roasted coffe flavor.
