Savage Crush

Super hazy, almost fully opaque orange coloured body with a big, but relatively fast-dying just off-white head that starts off at about six centimetres and fades to just a single centimetre after a few seconds. Aroma of very rich and pungent citrus notes with a lot of pure sour notes as well, not just tart from acidic candy and a dash of flowers here, without any real brine in the nose, at least. Medium to almost Full-bodied; Deep, dense and super rich wheat notes shine through with a big layer of fresh orange pulp here with blood orange and grapefruit as well with a big bitterness and a lot of pungency throughout, in a nice way. Aftertaste shows a great balance of very strong flavours - blood oranges, wheat, big yeasts, sugars and a pulpiness that drives the beer forward, but not any of the brine or salt components, making this much more of a pure soured beer than any sort of gose - it's too rich for that. Overall, a very nice beer that is great if you like citrusey beers, especially those who are super soured and rich as well - as in, not really a gose at all - this one is great and should be sampled! I sampled this sixteen oune, pint-sized can, purchased from Whole Foods in New York (Chelsea), New York 21-December-2021 for US$3,99, canned on 08-December-2021 and sampled in my hotel room here in Patuxent River, Maryland on 11-May-2022.
