Quite hazy golden and blonde coloured body with a rather large, slightly soapy pure white head, about three centimetres tall. Aroma of grass, lactose, candy, a dose of grapefruit and oranges and a lot of herbal and dry notes towards the end. Medium-bodied; Strong rich malt and lactose notes at first with a big hit of the grassy and citrus along with a soft alcohol and dry finish showing some of the cleanser-like flavours and astringency towards the end. Aftertaste shows the soft grassy and very fruity notes that show through everything along with lactose and some alcohol that is still noticeable, even at the very end. Overall, a nice and very smooth IPA that shows part of the 'hazy' qualities, but also leaving a nice sweetness from fruit that is fairly atypical for the style and hits nicely. Good to sample, and as a former resident, i'm happy this one came from Rochester, New York! I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can purchased from Liqour Outlet in Boonton, New Jersey on 22-September-2018 for US$3,99 sampled at my brother-in-law's house in Monroe, Connecticut on 21-November-2018.

Mekelberg's, Brooklyn can: pours lightly hazy with a white head. Aroma is an interesting berry sort of fruitiness, very atypical aroma for an IPA. Taste is strange too... weird fruitiness, a very particular spiciness. Kind of some flowers too. Earthy perhaps. Lively body.
