Bottle, 7% as Rock n Roel Bier. Weak fruity aroma. Cloudy dark yellow colour. The flavour is quite average, but clearly has some chili. The chili level is good, warming, but not burning too much.

Sampled as Rock’n Roelbier.Slight gushing to thick yellowish head over metallic, orangeish beer. Some lace forming. Hefty liqueurish nose, quite some alcohol jumping out, and faint spices, especially pine, spruce and cypress. Sharp liqueurish taste, alcoholic, caramel and dry spices. Warming up, it gets real peppery, chilli-like. Remarkable throatwarming, that is more than alcohol at 7%, reinforced no doubt by the spices. Bit oily, but not really slick. Medium bodied. I’m not convinced by the peppery onslaught. A beer is somewhere supposed to be thirst-quenching, not the opposite, no?

On tap @ Arendsnest, a few weeks ago. A hazy copper/golden coloured beer, creamy head. Aroma of soft and sweet malts, spices, sugar. Taste is of a soft and sweet blonde, creamy and rich, with a subtle red pepper taste. Peppers come out more pronounced in the back of your mouth when you wait a while between sips. Soft and creamy mouthfeel. Very nice.

Bottled. Hazy orange brown color, medium head. Aroma is grassy, slight spicy, hint of fruit. Very peppery taste, quite sharp in the palate. Body was too thin and pepper too much in my opinion. Interesting though.
