Clear dark brown to black beer, creamy irregular brown head, unstable, falls down quickly, bit adhesive. Aroma: coffee, caramel, bit sweet, malty, roasted. MF: soft carbon, medium to full body. Taste: lots of alcohol, roasted, coffee, sweet, dark chocolate, bit sugary, soft alcohol touch. Aftertaste: roasted, coffee, sweet, caramel, some overripe banana.

33cl bottle shared by Arve_Christian - thanks a lot! Pours dark brownish with a beige head. Aroma of dark chocolate, roasted malt and hints and licorice. Moderate sweet with tasty roasty notes and mild bitterness in the finish. Nice one!

A liquid the consumes all nearby light. Lovely beige head that gives a fine lacing. Powerful aroma with coffee, chocolate and dried fruits. Body of a devil. Full moon fever. Slightly sweet balanced nicely with a solid bitterness. Soft carbonation. Complex and rich flavor containing dried fruits, chocolate, coffee and a devilish spicy tail. Spot on. A true classic. I was chocked when I had a look at the abv….holy Christ. 17.1%. Where did they hide them? Dangerous brew!

(Bottle sample @ VilleValla Pub, Linköping, Feb 18 2015) Pours black with a ring of tan head and no lace. Aroma of intense sweet dark malts, molasses, bittersweet chocolate, roast, a bit of dried fruit and anise, light oxidation, ethanol. Palate is sweet sweet dark malts, toffee, brown sugar, light chocolate, touches of coffee, dates, maybe even port? Towards the finish there is a bit of alcohol heat, slight roast and coffee. Full bodied and slightly viscous. The 17%+ ABV is hidden quite well all considered but it’s still boozy. Good flavours though, nice concentration, tasty in small portions.

Bottle. Opaque black liquid with medium tan head. Aroma of coffee, licorice, dried fruit, raw sugar, toffee, raisins and sweet booze. Taste is light to medium sweet and medium bitter with notes of coffee, light ash, sweet booze, licorice and chocolate. Full bodied with medium carbonation. Really nice but way too boozy.

Big, wonderful beer. Definitely better than the Uncle Jacob’s and for me a little better than the Tweak. Pours black with decent mocha head and lacing. Lots of dark, bitter chocolate with coffee. Very bitter finish. Thick pour, a little oily but no syrupy sense - surprising for high alcohol. Great stuff. Tap at Churchkey Avery event.

12 oz bottle. Batch 9. Pours black with a fine tan head. Aromas of black coffee, heavily roasted malts, alcohol, vanilla, and dark chocolate. Rich flavors of dry dark chocolate and espresso with a bit of cherry liqueur. Hot finish. Great.
