Pricey 22 oz. bottle from Table and Vine, West Springfield, MA. Snifter showed an amber color with gold like hue. Great retention. Powerful nose of grapefruit, mango, peach and sweet malt. Sometimes I wonder if the “power of suggestion” is found on commercial descriptions, because now I think and smell nothing but lots of fruit. Taste follows the aroma’s. And very well played DIPA. Subtle bitterness and in perfect balance. Slick oily like texture. Compared this today side-by-side with Hopslam. For me I like Bells a bit better but this brew has no flaws and really is a masterpiece as well. Even if a tad over priced at some bottle shops.

Bomber. Clear, amber/deep gold liquid with medium off-white head. Aroma of grapefruit, citrus, cereal malt, tropical fruit, pine (lots of pine), caramel and fresh hops. Taste is light sweet, medium bitter with lots of fruity, hoppy notes. Delicious. Medium bodied with nice carbonation. Nice DIPA with lots of fruity flavour but less pungent aroma than I expected. Taste is really nicely balanced.

Bottle shared by Kabutomushi. Nose of solid malts, light caramel, big grass, light citrus, alcohol burn. Clear ciopper color with lace. Peach and tropical fruits come out later. Well assembled flavor with strong alcohol, tasty malts, without caramel overload, citrus and an interesting light fruitiness. Not so bitter, enough but not huge. Dry, earthy, grassy. Green fruits coming out. Clean and crisp. Quite drinkable, though not mind-blowing. Maybe this could use a bit of age.

22oz bomber from Binny’s poured into a snifter. Pours a very lightly cloudy burnt orange with about a finger of thick frothy head. Great lacing. Aroma of lots of citrus hops and a decent bit of caramel. Taste is heavy bitter. Lots of citrus and bitter grapefruit hops with a nice touch of caramel. Full bodied with a thick yet slick texture. Lively carbonation and a very long, very bitter finish. Overall, this one is great. I would love to have it again.

22 oz. bottle, split with Matts_Property, pours a beautiful opaque dark orange with a small white head. Aroma screams tropical fruits, with peaches, mango, mandarin oranges, truckloads of citrus and resinous hops, and rich caramel malts to balance. Flavour is omnipotent, with rich tropical fruits as aforementioned, loads of citrus and resinous hops, balanced by sufficient caramel malts, finishing tropical fruity and citrus hoppy. Magnificently well-done IIPA. Deserving of its reputation.

I have been looking forward to trying this beer for a long time. From the 11/2011 3R6P tasting. +++ Sampled from a 22 oz brown bottle this beer poured a slightly hazy apricot color with a medium sized white head that faded quickly and left a touch of lacing. The aroma was sweet pine, pineapple and orange. The flavor was sweet, tart and a bit our with fairly strong pineapple and pine and light orange and lemon. There were undertones of caramel and floral hops. The finish was medium length tangy mixed hops. Fairly full bodied. Quite nice but no all of what I had hoped.

Bottle @ Mikkeller Bar on October 15. Pours hazy golden with a thick white head that leaves lots of trace on the glass as it dissipates. Smell is sweet wth some bread, tropical fruits like peaches, apricots, papaya and passionfruit. There’s also slight notes of vanilla and a clear tingling smell of alcohol. Taste is incredibly smooth and well balanced with resin, pine, orange zest, mango, kiwifruit, vanilla taffy, freshly cut wood and some honey. Finish is smooth and bitter with some grapefruit. A really good beer that’s incredibly balanced. Could drink this all day every day!

08/05 0.65 l bottle courtesy of ogivlado, great thanks for sharing! Poured hazy dusky orange body with medium sized ivory head. Very nice aroma of standard citrus hops, Fine orange flavor, slightly evened with some vanilla and caramel malt, but still predominately bitter. Alcohol is felt as well. Medium in body, with longer hoppy herbal and orange finish. Warming. Not a bad beer, though didn’t like it as most of other IIPAs. Too alcoholic, while missed complexity.
