This is a big beer that calls for equally big foods. Flavor notes: Citrus hops with sweet malt and subtle alcohol burn (like a kiss on the cheek) Pairs with: Extra sharp aged Cheddar and stinky Blue cheese; smoked brisket; spicy foods with chili or cayenne pepper; earthy desserts like carrot cake.

12 ounce bottle from Mark H. Bright copper pour. Pillowy beige head. Clinging lace. Toasted malt, sweet caramel, resiny pine aroma. Big boozy flavor right out the gate. Toasted malt, resiny pine, sticky mouthfeel. Reminds me of DFH 90 Minute of even slightly, their 120 Minute. A simple brew that packs a wallop. Lots of bitterness on the backend. Deceptively potent.

The aromas are an interesting blend of caramel and pine resin. Flavors are like nose, adding a little metallic, more sweet than bitter. Slightly soft carbonation with full body. Boozy finish of course. It's good but not great.

Well into a session, I like finishing up with an IPA of some sort. I obtained the 12 oz bottle from the really nice people at Half Time. I pour inside of a ABGB tulip glass, because it just seems right with the Maryland/Texas confluence. I see a lightish amber body that has a consistent taupe head. The nose, interesting, hoppy like in the way of Dogfish Head 120 Minute, honey and herbal. A drink, wow, pretty impressive and I am not much of an IPA fan. A distinctly-from-the--field flavor, a bit of hops although providing some burn on the way down, honey and toffee to offset a nice bitterness, crackers and sweet apricots. Something of a beast all right with the ABV significantly covered up, a little here, a little there, I find this brew pretty fine, will certainly pursue it again. Beers like this, a bit off the trail, I appreciate significantly.

12 oz bottle from Labirratorium, stated at 12% (not 11,5%), served in a big snifter. A clean, dark orange pour (this is not amber, it's orange; pumpkin if you like) with a short-lived, off-white head that leaves a ring of foam. Aroma is very intense: sweet scents of honey or candy perfectly mixed with citrusy tinges (orange peel, kumquat) and a resinous whiff (like a conifer forest in which you were eating a candied orange, for example.) I expected it to be sweeter on the tip of your tongue, but it begins rather dry. Resinous bitterness ensues, not to leave the mouth for ages. Oily and slick, thank goodness it's crisp enough to balance that mammoth bitter kick. Very nice example of a West Coast style double IPA. It's not Pliny, but maybe it's Lucretius.

12 oz bottle, pours clear orange amber with beige head. Medium to full body. Grassy malt aroma, spicy malt forward taste with strongly bitter hops finish. Packs a punch.

Bottle. Reddish amber color. Flowery, slightly perfumed aroma with red berries. medium to full bodied. Initial malt blown away by loads of hops, alcohol and red berries. Woody. Tannines, citrus, red berries and loads of hopbitterness in the aftertaste, that seems to last for ages. A huge beer!

Bottle poor into nonic pint glass from Smiley's discount beverage. Appearance is clear deep orange Amber with fair lazy sparkle, 2-finger beige foamy head with fair retention and lots of soapy lacing. Aroma is subtle citrus and fruit (more apparent as it warms), dank, grass, balanced with malt backbone. Taste is dank and strong almost medicinal alcohol and sweet malts. Palate is medium body with smooth, thick texture, soft carbonation, intense alcohol warmth and finish as taste. Overall, maybe this is a little young and needs a bit of time for alcohol to mellow? Too malt forward but will need to re-rate others in 6.
