Reviewed from notes.
Bottle to tulip.
Appearance: golden copper color with a finger's worth of white foamy head which dissipated to leave a lot of messy lace all over the place
Aroma: funky to tart to Brett/sour-toned, herbal, earthy and floral character; light tea notes; then a brisk malty accent
Flavor: wraps up the prior noted aromas to a fine funky to tea-like herbal character; finishes herbal/earthy to floral and funky-like tea character
Texture: medium bodied - maybe a touch under; somewhat sessionable; some smoothness but becoming somewhat slippery
Overall: I think I get this beer enough that the tea they added was to "make" the beer what they wanted it to be. To me, yes, one of my eyebrows might be raised a bit but hey, I'm just going to chalk it up to say "Hey, that's just Grimm, man!"

Tap at Pita Kabob in Visalia. Pours a hazy yellow-gold with moderately fluffy white head. Dry hopping is a bit restrained, which leads to the Earl Grey having a slightly prominent aspect.

Bottle drunk 5/26/18.
Pretty good clarity, leaving light sediment behind. Rosy-peach-golden body topped by a medium-sized, off-white head showing moderate retention.
Quite fruity in the nose (raspberry, apple, cherry, pear) from the yeast, with no sign of the tea and, thankfully, less given to specialty malt and sweet base malt than most of their "saisons" have been. Hops add light citrus, various yellow fruits and low acidity. Again, as with all their saisons, not really "Belgian" or at least not truly saison-like at all. Still, this one doesn't have any big clove or bubble gum, thankfully. No alcohol or flaw.
In the mouth it's lightly sweet, but gains dryness as it progresses, due to light, peppery phenols, hints of bitterness from the hops and a touch of astringency from the tea. Good fruitiness from the yeast, again, with engaging carbonation and no real unwanted flavors. Strong, strong fruitiness is fun, at least.

Sampled from the tap at Forbidden Root. Pours a clear yellow with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma combines sweet grains, flora and early gray with a bit of grass underlying. Flavor has lots of early gray tea supported by grass, grains and a bit of hay.

22 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled in 5/2018. Pours slightly hazy/cloudy medium golden yellow color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and rocky white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Nice dense soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big lemon, lime, orange, peach, pear, melon, red apple, black tea, coriander, peppercorn, clove, light banana, wheat, cracker, white bread, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast, tea, earthy hops, and moderate pale/wheat malts; with great strength. Taste of big lemon, lime, orange, peach, pear, melon, red apple, black tea, coriander, peppercorn, clove, light banana, wheat, cracker, white bread, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Moderate peppery yeast spiciness and herbal/floral/grassy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of lemon, lime, orange, peach, pear, melon, red apple, black tea, coriander, peppercorn, clove, light banana, wheat, cracker, white bread, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, tea, earthy hops, and moderate pale/wheat malt flavors; with a great malt/bitter/spiciness balance, and zero astringent hop/spice flavors after the finish. Moderately crisp/clean finishing. Moderate increasing dryness from bitter/spiciness and carbonation. Medium-high carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth and moderately bready/grainy/sticky balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol for 6.3%. Overall this is an excellent dry hopped/spiced saison! All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, tea, earthy hops, and moderate pale/wheat malt flavors; very smooth, crisp, clean, and refreshing to drink with the moderately bitter/spicy/drying finish. Was expected some wild character initially, because of all of their sours I've had previously; but was not the case. 100% classic rustic saison yeast complexity; with great balance of earl grey tea, earthy hops, and pale/wheat malts. A very enjoyable offering, and spot on style example.

Draught @ City Hops. Faintly cloudy bright yellow with small frothy white head, faint fruity aroma, medium carbonation, medium bitter lightly earthy taste with bitter tea coming out towards the end, thin body, longish finish. Nice saison, the tea brings light bitterness.

Fool's Gold tap: pours hazy gold with a white head. Aroma is nice yeasty and fruity saison smell. Good aroma. Taste is dry, fruity, hint of sweetness plus some fleurs. Tea notes are super mild. Good.
