Bottle. Amber color. Tropical fruit and hints of beechwood in the aroma. Slughtly tart and sweet flavor with notes of cherry, pineapple and mango. Hint of perfume. Pleasant beer.

Den Haene is or was a beer company which commissioned a few beers from Strubbe in an attempt to promote tourism in the Belgian beach town of De Haan. This one is a peach blonde, hazy beer under a snow white head, with a very strangely (and, frankly, not very pleasantly) perfumed aroma of apple (but not in an estery way - rather apple sauce or apple cake), cava, biscuit, cough syrup, gingerbread, wheat and aspartame. Honey sweet taste with low carbo and slick mouthfeel, straightforward with again that bizarre perfume of cough syrup, dried sweet spices and aspartame, a kind of sweetness interfering and ruining an otherwise relatively okay beer. I really have no idea what they poured into this but whatever it was, it doesn’t belong here.

Bottled@Tuulensuu, Tampere. Deep amber colour, small off-white head. Aroma is yeast, grass, some spices, mild raisins as well as some dark berries. Flavour is spices, floral, fruity and ripe sweet dark fruity and berryish notes. Quite tasty, even though a bit strong on the yeasty side.

Bottle shared. Pours hazy amber brown with a small tan head. Aroma seems infected, bretty, Elastoplast, chemical. Not good. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation.

33cl bottle courtesy of and shared with Kermis. Aroma is off. Thin white head. Hazy light amber pour. Infected? Something wrong with this beer
