Bottle shared in London - cheers! Pours clear reddish-pink with a fine, creamy white head. The nose has some tangy berries, a little shortbread. Light sweet flavour with moderate acidity, light lemon, tart berries, cherries, mild seedy bitterness. Light bodied with spritzy carbonation. dry finish with more berry tartness, mild lemony acidity. Pretty solid.

Bottled October 2016, drunk 11/17/16.
Lightly to moderately hazy, cherry-pulp red body with a hint of gold. Off-white head atop is small and shows low retention.
The nose immediately shows the tart cherries, very well-attenuated and with lots of acidity. The lactose, not overdone thankfully, but still quite notable, backs it and softens its somewhat while transitioning the beer in to a lactic finish with light berry jam and lots of wheat and biscuit. The vanilla is very light, thankfully, and mixes right in with the lactose. Nothing punchy or artificial, though I must admit to the lactose being quite weird and unexpected. But I like the experiment and the cherries really round this out with a very authentic fruit character.
In the mouth it’s equally different and unexpected. Where I thought there’d be a sweeter, rounder, bigger bodied beer, is instead a very light, extremely dry, tart, berliner weisse-like beer. Light, airy and easy-drinking, though with a strong raspberry-cherry acidity. The lactose is again somewhat strange, but the palate accustoms to it quickly and the additional sweetness and complexity it provides is welcome. Very much a cherry-raspberry-vanilla berliner; the lactose working well in the vein of the lactic character inherent in that style. Love the low abv and yet again, very impressed with Grimm.

Bottle at while watching the World Series. Of all of Grimm’s releases I was most skeptical of this since not sure on the whole milk sugar dessert Berliner thing would appeal to me but never been let down yet by Grimm. Crazy colored peach pink. Nose is fruity sherbet. Tastes of cherry, strawberry, raspberry, vanilla and lactose are subdued thank the lord and only add a touch of sweetness and creaminess. Some tart puckering. But again almost like the sherbet mixed with sprite punch I had as kid but better probably due to alcohol as so many things are. Anyways enjoyable brew albeit a light fruity cocktail like one.
