Candi Stout is our fusion of a Belgian dark ale and a classic stout. A rich blend of roasted malts is blended with cocoa nibs and candi syrup (traditionally used in Belgian abbey ales) during brewing resulting in a wonderfully drinkable stout with notes of roasted malt, chocolate, and a hint of sweetness. A surprisingly light mouthfeel and effervescent carbonation deliver a sessionable drinkability not often found in stouts today.

Sampled from a 750 ml corked brown bottle this beer poured a black color with a medium sized brown head. The aroma was roasty and woody. The flavor was roasty, woody, malty and had a bread crust note. Long finish. Moderately full bodied.

Draft. Deep brown body. Frothy, tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, cocoa, hint of dark fruit. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, watery/velvety texture, lively carbonation. Taste of chocolate, roasted malt, light cardboard. Not a lot of Belgian yeast character which is too bad. But a nice, easy drinking sweet stout.

Pours black into a tulip. Mocha head with good retention recedes to skim surface. Milk chocolate aromas. Dry with sweet vanilla and chocolate upfront turning to mild resin in the medium length finish.

Draft sample. 9.7 ABV. 45 IBU. Pitch black color with a light brown head. The flavor has way too much Belgian yeast taste for a stout. Pass!

Draught @ Ginger Man. Dark brown with reddish tint, creamy beige head, very faint roasted malt aroma, medium carbonation, medium bitter roasted malt taste with dark chocolate flavor, smooth body, long mocha/dark chocolate finish. Nice brew, but didn't get the Belgian yeast flavor at all.
