Deep dark brown coloured body that shows at about 80% opacity with a nice, single centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of toasted malt, light nuts and a larger earthiness, some lighter caster sugar and sweet elements and finishing with a lot of chocolate and oatmeal characteristics. Light to Medium-bodied; Assertive toasted malt flavours at first with a heavier hand of lactose and cacao notes with some oatmeal, grain and toffee all around the fringes. Aftertaste shows more of a malty kick with the earth and grain noticeable at first, but some light sweetness followed by a bit of the pure chocolate near the end makes this go down quite easily. Not much complexity and there isn't a big depth of malty flavours or a pungency from the yeast, since this still does show as a lager, despite it's bit malt side of things. Overall, a nice beer to sample and showing some good characteristics considering the style, but nothing too amazing or crazy, just a nice one to sample if you can find it! I sampled this twelve ounce can purchased from New Beer Distributors in New York, New York on 24-February-2018 for US$2,25 sampled at home in Monroe, Connecticut on 09-March-2018 with my brother and sister-in-law.

Can @ Albion. Pours clear dark brown with reddish tint against the light, small foamy beige head, sweet chocolate-espresso aroma, high carbonation, slightly tangy mildly bitter mocha taste with espresso flavor, thin body, long bitter finish. Not bad but feels a bit watery.

@ Brazen Head on cask-pours a tan head and dark brown/red color. Aroma is chocolate, dusty, dark fruit. Taste is chocolate, dusty, dark fruit, secondary flat/metallic (English?) hops. Interesting, like a dark mild. Mild carbonation.

Brazen Head Cask Fest. Color is brown with translucent edges. Aroma is a smokey chocolate and sweet caramel. Taste is a bit empty with sweet malts but nothing off-putting. A light and quaffable beer with a very nice aroma. Would not hesitate to try on tap.
Cask, half pint glass.
