Draft at the brewery, very dark brown opaque. Full body. Vanilla and some chocolate aroma. Vanilla and licorice taste, sweet malt finish with booze edge.

For out sample at the source. Pitch black liquid. Aroma and flavor are the same. Coffee, cigarettes, deep malt. Alcohol is hidden. Pretty good malt depth. Very respectable overall! Clearly the best brew of the 5 that I sampled on this visit.

Location: 22 oz bottle from Buy Rite, 3/21/15

Aroma: Definitely brandy note to the aroma to go along with the sweet dark malts
Appearance: It pours a murky looking brown-black with a thin ring of head and almost no lace
Flavor: The taste is rather sweet, brandy, oak, vanilla, caramel, dark fruit, and a light bitterness
Palate: The body is lighter than you'd expect, soft carbonation, noticeable boozy heat
Overall Impression: Since it decided to snow in "spring" I guess it's pretty apropos to drink this beer for a cold winter night tonight. Definitely has an interesting brandy flavor to it. I'm torn. There's good stuff here and mediocre stuff here.

Bottle. Pours black tan head. Nose/taste of caramel, grape, oak, apple brandy, milk chocolate and vanilla extract. Lighter bodied. Tastes kind of like a chocolate infused lower end apple brandy.

Bottle shared. Pours near black with ring beige head. Aroma of sweet malt, caramel, chocolate, Apple Brandy and wood coming out, with a touch of yeast and butterscotch. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and light moderate bitter. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.
