Big, creamy mouthfeel is acheived through a two-step infusion mash to model traditional Bavarian-style wheat beers. A malt bill cosisting of 50% wheat contributes haze for dayz and distinct Weissen yeast produces beautiful soft notes of banana and clove.

Draught @ the source. Hazy pale yellow with creamy white head, wheat aroma, high carbonation, medium bitter wheat taste with little hint of cloves, thin body, medium bitter finish. A bit too bitter for a hefeweizen.

29.06.2013, tap @ The Pony Bar NY:
Tiny shortlasting head. What the heck kind of crap is this? Aroma is sulfury, old potato cellar. Taste is washwater, sulfur, potatoes. Little bitterness, slightly dry mouthfeel. Horrible!

Bottle from Paula. Pours pale gold with a foamy 3 finger white head. Light banana and clove aromas. Near med body. Banana and clove indeed, but rather light. There is also some citrus. Finishes mildly the same. Really, really light hefe.

Hunter Mt. Hefe-on tap-pours a dissipating white head and cloudy yellow color. Aroma is banana, clove, some yeast/wheat. Taste is lots of clove, banana, some yeast/wheat, some lemon with it. When it warms up the banana comes to equal the clove. OK effervescence.

Sampled from the tap at the brewpub. Poured a hazy pale gold with a white head that dissipated to the edges and laced slightly. Aroma was full of strong sweet citrus with light flora and a wheat backing. Flavor was similar with a combination of citrus and wheat with a bit of a sweet finish.

(juin 2008)
