Warm koperkleurig bier. Zoete karamel van pure mout. Lange bitterzoete hopnuance in de nasmaak. Elke vergelijking gaat mank.

Small off-white head over copper-amber beer. Rather nutty/bready nose, but very fleeting and discreet. Bready taste, with a nice earthy/bitterish flavour. Refreshing, revigorating, spritzy. Palate however falls away dramatically, tastewise, leaving not much more than a bit of COΒ². With a good kick in the butt tastewise, this might become a rather good beer.

Bottled (thanks jbrus!). Amber colour, small head. Aroma is bready and slightly caramel malty with some sugary hints as well as some berries and mild bitterness. Flavour is wood, some yeast, mild saltwater and some slight sugary notes. More a vienna than any kind of ale...

Bottled (BB 05/2010)
Dark amber color, small white head. Sticky yeasty, caramelly aroma, a bit cardboardish. Caramelly, grainy, a bit harsh, alcoholic finish, some berries. Very lagerish, is this really an ale?

tap at arendsnest in amsterdam - Pours hazy amber with decent lacing and a very mild aroma. It tastes of caramel malt with moderately bitter hops. There’s some good fruitiness in there from the esters, not so much from the hops which are mainly just bitter. Fairly good.

30cl Bottle from Mitra. Clear amber colour with a creamy off-white head. Aroma of butterscotch/caramel, cream, sweet malts, a hint of fruits and vegetables. Flavour is creamy and malty, butterscotch/caramel, some grain, with a slightly dry bitter finish. Medium bodied. Not bad at all.

[30cl bottle, as De Leckere Speciale, 5.0%abv] Hazy, amber colour with a short foamy off-white head. Sweet toast-malty and nutty aroma with notes of chestnuts and toffee. Bitter flavour, yeasty toast-malty and slightly nutty taste, which does not harmonize very well. Moderately dry, sweet-bitter toasty finish with a shy herbal hops character. Pretty clumsy composition [07.I.09].
