Pale yellow color with white foamy head, dough aroma, slighly bitter hops taste, abrupt finish. Generic beer but not bad.

Pours pale gold with a small quickly fading head.Nose shows grassy hops with grainy malt quite evident as well. Seems somewhat cardboard-y. Not offensive, but far from interesting. Not much hops transfer through as flavours, but there’s still loads of cardboard-y, stale malt, with a short-lived plain bitterness following.Way too much carbonation, and watery as well.Manages to keep the metallic finish of regular VB. Only 4.5%? How low can they go? Trying to follow the American way?

Bottle. This was a real surprise. Since I consider VB an abomination of a beer and the recent trend in low carb beers to be a marketting gimmick for some other dreadfull beers, such as Bondi Blonde, I really wasn’t expecting a lot from a VB low carb beer. However, it’s OK. It’s not great, but there is nothing actually wrong with it, but there is plenty of room for improvement. It’s clear straw / pale gold. There is not much of an aroma, but what there is is vegetably hops. It has medium to light body and medium carbonation. The taste is rather on the light side but has is slightly sweet pale malt with a touch of hops giving some bitterness, although with a vegetably and metallic edge. Overall it’s an OK, refreshing beer with a bit of character, but could do with more. It’s not a bad effort for a mainstream brewer.
