Poured from 330mL bottle (10.5% abv listed; pkg 2022-08-04). Hazed dark brown with small beige head. Gentle sweet roast malt, feint booze, hops have disappeared, some mild dark fruit notes that give it just a hint of tartness. A bit simplistic, okay.

Black with thin head. Aroma and flavour have lots of roasted malt bitterness. Really full bodied, rich and creamy. Light caramel sweetness.

From tap at Café De Toeter, Groningen. Nicely roasty aroma with tons of rye, dark chocolate, soft oak, and notes of coffee, with a hoppy touch. Flavour is bitter and dry-ish, mild sweet. Body is medium. Tasty Stout. Tasty Stout, lots of roast and rye bread. Well-realized!

dark brown colour, moderate sized dense beige head; aroma of toasted rye bread, dark chocolate, herbal notes and apple (?); taste of toasted rye bread, mild roasted coffee, some cocoa, slight smoked wood, and sourish notes; so, why is it a traditional ale?
