Bottle. Black pour. Aroma of licorice, chocolate, rye herbs and malt. Taste of soft oak, bitter chocolate, salty licorice, caramel, rye and some cinnamon. Liked it.

From tap. Pours hazy dark brown to black with a small tan head. Aroma is roasted malty and breadish. Caramelish and chocolate malty. Bredish finish.

Bottle from het Biermoment, medium sample. Dark brown color, medium frothy head. Aroma has some roast and coffee, spicy and dry oak, bit ashes even. Quite dry in taste, malty, some caramelly sweetness. Feels like a dry dark stout-like beer indeed, and the oak gives it a bit more complexity. Tasted it side by side with the whisky version and preferred the oak infused one, which was more balanced.

[9/26/15] Bottle sample at Borefts Beer Festival 2015 in Bodegraven. Thanks everyone who shared bottles! Dark brown. Aroma of roast, dark fruits, spicy rye, wood, alcohol. Sweet flavor with dark fruits, roast, rye spiciness, wood, alcohol. Medium-bodied.

Bottle shared at Borefts ’15. Pours cloudy murky brown with a small tan head. Aroma of toffee, licorice, overripe dark fruit and a bad cake. Flavour is moderate sweet and light bitter. Medium bodied with light carbonation.
