0.375 l bottle from 'Beer Republic'. A bit hazy, very deep ruby with a medium large, frothy, slowly diminishing, beige head. Sweetish, slightly sourish, gently fruity aroma of sour cherry, marzipan and some oak. Slightly sweetish, gently sour, quite fruity taste of sour cherry, oak, elderberry and some lemon, followed by a short, gently tart, slightly woody-dry finish. Medium body, gently astringent and moderately effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Decent sour ale, quite different to a Belgian sour brown ale though.

Bottle. Slightly unclear, dark brown body under a nice, moderate sized tan head. Aroma has malt, dry fruit, acidic red berries, wood, some cellar notes and slightly funky. Taste goes in the same direction as the aroma, sweetness from malt and dry fruit balancing against sour berries and vinegar. Mild wood , hint of caramel and smooth finish. Fine body, easy drinkable and a certain complexity.

Bottle at home. One year old. Pours a dark brown colour with a small beige head that fades fast. Aroma of oak, brown ale, balsamico vinegar and black currants. Flavour of oak, vinegar, citric acid, brown sugar and heather. Some rye bread in the background. Has a slick mouth feel, medium body and a light bitterness. Pretty sour with a malty backbone.
