33cl bottle (BBF: 23/2/21) from Prik&Tik Kampenhout. F: big, tanned, good retention. C: dark, opaque. A: rich dark malts, chocolate, dried fruits, bit berries, caramel, toffee, dried plums, bit herbal. T: full malty base, mild chocolate, dried fruits, caramel, toffee, banana, dark honey touch, bit dark bread crust, vinous touch, soft carbonation, slightly after BBF bit improved this beer actually, enjoyed.

Dark brown with thin head. Aroma is very spicy and floral. Similar flavour. Spicy and cakey.

Je suis donc censé avoir en verre, une bière qui se veut à l’égal des meilleures bières d’abbaye…On en est loin pourtant. Elle se boit tout de même très facilement, trop d’ailleurs. Car une bière avec 10 % Abv doit normalement posséder une intensité aromatique et un caractère beaucoup plus important. Ici les arômes ne sont à la fois pas assez développés et pas assez riches. En verre, nous sommes un brun limpide parsemé de grosses bulles qui me laissent quelque peu perplexe. La mousse brune n’arrive pour sa part qu’à couvrir la moitié de la surface. Le nez n’est pas très développé, sur le café, chocolat et sucre candi. J’ai connu mieux. A la dégustation la texture très fine surprend, surtout qu’elle va de pair avec une présence en bouche médiocre. Les arômes présents en attaque sont des arômes fruités d’orange avec une légère poire, de sucre candi, de chocolat et de café. La deuxième bouche est linaire, légèrement plus amère mais avec un alcool qui a du mal à s’affirmer. Les houblons sont le Northern Brewer, l’Hallertau Hersbrücker et le Styrian Goldings, des houblons qui se veulent donc plutôt élégants. L’arrière bouche est à l’identique de la seconde bouche avec un manque patent de présence en bouche. Le final est sur un petit élancement mais sur une amertume qui aurait pu être plus poussée sur des arômes d’orange, de candi, de genièvre avec un soupçon d’épices. L’ensemble reste largement insuffisant.

[ As Monk Johnny ].Clear medium to dark brown amber color with a small to average, frothy - fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, sweet malt, caramel, dark malt, berry, alcohol, dark fruit - riped. Flavor is moderate sweet with a average to long duration, berry, alcohol, dak malt, sweet malt, old malt, plum, dark fruit - riped, tart notes. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20160819]

Sampled @ Danish Ratebeer Summer Gathering 2016, Friday, Day 1 33cl bottle. Pours almost clear dark orange brown colour with a small off-white head. Aroma of dark malt, ripe dark fruits. Taste of strong dark/red malt, red fruits, nothing special!

Bottle, 10%. Clear dark brown with small beige head. Aroma is malt, caramel, bread, dusty, yeast and wood. Flavour is malt, caramel, sour, wood, alcohol, alcohol, warming, dark fruit and medium sweet.

Bottled at TNOD(U)RBSG2016. Cloudy nut brown, small head. Lemony caramel aroma. Sweet and sour with full body and sticky, prickly mouthfeel. Citric acid and syrup. Thoroughly failed and unpleasant.

Säuerlich malziger Antrunk mit geringer Hefigkeit. Kein Alkohol, kaum Aromen, bis auf die weiche Säure. Soll das so? Wenn ja, falscher Bierstil und viel zu viel Alkohol. Wenn nein - harte Infektion bei 10%.. 8/8/9/7/6/7

Bottle @ fonefan tasting. Hazy amber brown with an off-white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, caramel, candy sugar and light sour. Flavor is quite sweet and light acidic. Sweet and light acidic finish with lots of warming alcohol. 190816
