Roasted coffee and cocoa flavours front this darkly coloured but medium bodied brew, but then come the fresh, green, Hop flavours of juniper, herbs, and light citrus undertones. With some soft fruit towards the finish and a slight hint of applewood, Netherworld will definitely capture your interest for more than a few pints.

Draught at Beertemple. Brownish black with a large head. Aroma of dark fruit and malt. Flavour is Smoke roast hop, sticky bitter base, a bit of a strange mix.

Tap at Erzbierschof Zurich. Lots of chocolate and roast, not so much IPA. Feels more like a stout than a BIPA. Medium roasted body to a light palate, almost refreshing. Hints of hops on the palate. Nice.

Bottle at home. Bought from Saviere Biere (or however you spell it, I did German!). Surprisingly sweet aroma - berries, fruit. Dark brown, ruby comes through when hit by light. Beige head - frothy but only a few mm. Very bitter, all through in to the dry finish. Berries, again, but goosberries and those of a similar sharpness. Light bodied, almost slick. Packs a punch but drinkable. I’d echo an earlier rating - could do with some sweetness in there to add balance.

33cl bottle. Very dark brown pour with a medium height tan head. Notes of roasted coffee, pine resin, citrus hops, chocolate, roasted malts. Medium body, medium to high carbonation and a roasty and hoppy bitter-sweet finish.

From tap at BeerTemple, Amsterdam, 17.02.16. Dark brown. Foamy and persistent brown head and lacing. Aroma of fresh American hops, with dry hopping of citrus and grass. Similar taste, combined with dark caramel and medium dark malt. Surprisingly balanced.

Bottle. In my glass it looks big, large and incharge. OK, I was hoping this was not IPA, but there, you have it. Everything gottah B freeking IPA today. So, since I got it open I mays well rate it. If you love black IPA go for it. Though I find it to be more of a stronger porter rather than IPA, it’s still kick ass alky impact, even @ 6%, it seems like more. The smell is volatile choco malt. Yes, dark choco and malt abides by the voluptuous development of flavors. Higher alky is not my style unless its well done and this is one for the border. In the end its just a big, black, buzzy, buzzy, beer babeldom, babirusa, baboonery, baccate and bacchanal brew. Go figger. The funny thing about this brand beer is I think they are all made in mexico, I guess its because of mad mex and teh label art.

Bottle from Brewcraft at home. Translucent dark cola pour with light tan head. Aroma is musty roasted malt with faint woody hops. Taste is burnt malt with some brightness from woody but muddled hoppy bitterness. Light thin body. Not great really.

330ml bottle. Pours black-brown in colour with a reddish tinge and a large creamy beige head leaving lacing. Nose of tangy citrus hop and roast malt. Taste is chocolatey roasted malt, some caramel and dried fruits, with orangey citrus hop bitterness. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry roast bitter finish. Very drinkable.
