Swinckels’ is a full-malt pilsner that is brewed in Lieshout. Swinckels’ is made with a blend of Cascade hop from the American Yakima valley and the Polaris hop from the Hallertau region in Germany. These hops give Swinckels' its unique character, which can be described as slightly spicy and fruity with a refined bitter, concluding with a beautiful, smooth aftertaste. The combination of a unique blend of hop varieties, mineral water from Bavaria's own spring and especially selected wheat malt from Bavaria's own malting plant creates a unique flavour and gives Swinckels' its distinctive, complex and refreshing character.

Bottle from supermarket at home. Clear golden with short lived bubbly white head. Sweet malts, pils malts, light caramel. Moderate sweet and bitter. Thin body, soft carbonation. Quite uninspiring. --- Beer merged from original tick of Swinckels' Superior Pilsner on 26 Dec 2017 at 11:11 - Score: 4. Original review text: 2

330 ml. bottle sampled. BBF 04-2018. Label states Independant brewers over 7 generations. Website maintenance this nonsense despite this being a Bavaria product. Plenty of marketing nonsense like this out there & it is far from limited to the beer world. Golden, sparkling, totally clear, soapy white head that fizzes away. Nose is unpleasant vegetable oil sweet with chemical apples pale lager. Sparking, mineral, empty, industrial. Really poor plastic taste, finish is just cooked vegetable, plastic, vegetable oil, old paper, empty fizzy, mineral, nasty oily vegetable, empty beer. Real rubbish.

Bottle. Color: Clear golden, on the dark side. Nice dense white head. Lots of tiny bubbles. Taste: Fruity, mix of medium sweet malt and floral hopbitterness. Notes of bread. Finish is tending to the bitter side, with some sweet notes. Medium body and light carbonation. When the beer gets warmer it’s tending more to the malty side. Overall a decent pilsener.

Sampled as Swinckels’ Superior Pilsner. Huge, dense light-yellowish head, receding over clear yellow golden beer, lazily carbonated. Grains, diary, bit herb, but also somewhat dusty. Dry grainy flavour, again, quite herb. USA hops don’t make much difference, can’t be a lot of them in... Light body, bit gristslick, not much carbonation. Decent Pilsner, strictly nothing more.

F: medium size, egg-white, quick gone. C: deep gold, clear. A: malty, grassy, hint of floral, bread. T: malty, light lemon, grassy, bread, hint of caramel, medium body, medium carbonation, almost good, drinkable Pilsener, bottle changed from transparent to dark brown so may be this helps a little to beer quality, 0,33l bottle from Jumbo in Marknesse in Netherland.

Clear nice medium golden colour, tall frothy off-white to white head, good retention, fair lacing. Aroma malt, grain, grass. Taste medium sweet and bitter, malty, grainy, grassy, spicy notes. Hoppy finish, spicy notes, bit metallic; medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation, decent pilsner.

Bottle at home. Clear darker golden with fizzy white head. Quite malty with some bread, cake, crackers and a bit of cardboard. Soft grass, light flowers and a light metallic touch. Light caramel and peach candy. Just under medium sweet and bitter. Under medium bodied. No idea why this costs four times as much as regular Bavaria. They also don’t mention Bavaria anywhere on the label, hahaha. This is not bad but not something I’d seek out again.

Glaasje van de tap gedronken met TomHendriksen. Goudgeel helder bier met weinig schuim. Weinig aroma. Smaak is hoppig. Weinig nasmaak. Gewoon een goede pilsener.
