Aroma of tart cherries, brown sugar, hint of vinegar, malt. Flavour is moderate to medium sweet and moderate sour. It’s a shame about the sugary sweetness.

Complex aroma with oak, pepper, cherry and cinnamon. Surprisingly full bodied for such a low alcohol beer. Complex, sweet and bit sour taste with oak, cinnamon, cherry, apple and chocolate. Bit dusty. Without doubt one of the best low alcohol beers available.

Bottle 75 cl. corked and caged, vintage 2016, bbd 11/5/2018. Sour nose. Clear amber brown colour, good frothy beige head, mostly diminishing. Aroma balsamico, dark malt, sour cherries, berries, wood, apple syrup, candy sugar. Taste light heavy sweet and medium sour, red fruit, syrupy, candy sugar, balsamico and vinous notes, light bitter touch in the finish; some retronasal wood. Mild sweet and sour aftertaste, sugary, light body, sticky texture, soft carbonation, very enjoyable brew, very good.

150 ml. draft @ Foeders. Very dark brown, red / pomegranate hue, tanned head. Sweet & sour nose, caramel, malty thick, raisin, caramel sweet & sour and bit metallic. Comparable to regular Rodenbach but better in my opinion, chewy malt, caramel, sour, sweet wine syrup, pomegranate syrup, sweet & sour, metallic. Good sweet & sour combo, closer to how I remember Rodenbach being about 8 years ago. Very nice, dug it more than the sour version to my surprise.
