Christmas Idjit is a version of our potent imperial stout Idjit. Black as the night and dark as sin. Loaded with roasted, and just a hint of smoked malts it is as smooth as it is powerful. A beer you can count on anytime, anywhere.

Svart med fingerhøyt lys brunt skum. Lukter sjokolade, røde bær og kaffe. Smaker salt lakris, alkohol, mørk sjokoladebitterhet og noe bærsødme. Middels lang alkohol i avslutningen.

Bottle @ Van Moll Brewpub. A bit unclear medium to dark brown color, full sized beige to light brown head that lasts for quite a long time. Aroma is malts, roasted malts, a hint of smoked malts, chocolate and lightly liquorice. Taste malts, roasted malts, subtle chocolate and roast bitter, slightly liquorice again. Smooth mouthfeel, oily texture, nice subtle chocolate and roast bitter finish, medium to full body, suitable soft carbonation. Lovely beer.

Bottle at home, 13th December 15. Pours black, not as thick as I remember the Dugges original impy, which was great. This smells roasty, sweet, some cocoa. Taste is rich and smooth, roasted malt, coarse, chocolate, coffee, roasty, bitter finish. Very nice

(330ml bottle ~ 1yr old from Systembolaget) Pours black with just a few whitish bubbles on top, and no lace. Aroma a mix of dark and milk chocolate, brown sugar, a bit of vanilla, smoky sort of roast, maybe a little dark fruit blend lingering in there, and spiced sorts of notes as well. Palate is a bit sweet and fruity at first, with dark malt, toffee, a little milk chocolate and vanilla. Really kicks up the bitterness and roast from the middle on however, drying along with smoky, ashy, sort of woody notes, spices, peppery heat and a bit of grain and vanilla bean. A bit of chocolate in the aftertaste, touch of alcohol heat going down too. Light-medium body for style with quite little carbonation. Feels a bit more like a big porter than an imp stout, a bit lighter in the mouth and without intensely rich malts. Still has big flavours, nice roast, a good slightly spicy sipper.

33cl bottle from Systembolaget, Strömstad. Pours very dark brown with a somewhat modest, beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, lots of dark chocolate, some caramel, hints of vanilla, liqueur, coffee and spices. Sweet, flavourful and quite well balanced. Tasty, warming and easy to drink IS.
