Christmas Idjit is a version of our potent imperial stout Idjit. Black as the night and dark as sin. Loaded with roasted, and just a hint of smoked malts it is as smooth as it is powerful. A beer you can count on anytime, anywhere.

330ml bottle, thanks to Garlic of Doom. Pours very dark with big tan head. Beautiful Swedish porter with a lovely grainy aroma and big roasted malts in the taste and lots of cocoa notes. Very enjoyable this.

Craft Islington. Keg. Clear dark red - brown beer, small pale tan head. Palate is smooth and mildly viscous. Decent fine carbonation. Super smooth dark malts, rich and with a light touch of roast. Nice dark malt cream gives was to luxuriant chocolate covered dark fruits. A mild floral - candy sweetness and mild mocha before a smooth semi dry finish. Very smooth and very drinkable.

Keg at CBC Holborn St Giles, 27/12/14. Black with a decent tan covering that dissipates then retains. Nose is spice, dark malt, rum and raisen chocolate, dark fruit tones. Taste comprisesdark chocolate, booze tunes, molasses, tar, fruit cake, leather, spice, brown sugar. Medium + bodied, fine carbonation, warming alcohol in the close. Ok impy but a little harsh in places, needs more finesse.

Tap at the Craft Beer Co, Covent Garden. Poured a clear dark brown with a thin broken tan head. The aroma is rich boozy alcohol, fruity Christmas pudding. The flavour is strong bitter sweet with a rich smooth boozy alcoholic bitter, fruit, light chocolate malt palate. Full bodied with soft carbonation.

(Bottle, 0.33 l - BB 2016-10-08, thanks SaintMatty, 20141231) The beer poured black. Its head was small and lightly brown. Aroma had liquorice, saltiness, burnt malts and ash. Palate was full bodied and warming with medium carbonation. Flavours were liquorice, mild vineousness, dark chocolate, sweetness, hops and bitterness. Aftertaste was burnt and bitter. Even though the label said they have used smoked malts I couldn’t detect any. A blind spot of my senses? A good blanced strong brew.
