A Mikkeller interpretation of the classic Trappist ale, Orval. Brett funk in a light fruity pale, that will taste great fresh, but age beautifully for years!

On draught at White Horse Parsons Green. Hazy deep amber colour lasting white head. Nutty odd aroma. Some sourness. Interesting. Walnut sour. Big hoppy finish. Weird

Dark amber with a lasting white head. Funky aroma with grapefruit and leather - not quite bright and lively though. Sweetish funky flavour, again a little dead. Pasteurized brett?

Fantastic beer, indeed a more creamy and fruity version of the Orval. With that nice tardy note of the brett.. Loved it.

33cl Bottle from De Bierkoning. Clear deep amber colour, off-white head. Aroma is a bit fishy, Brettanomyces, light funky, tart green apples, hint of caramel. Smell is a bit off unfortunately, perhaps my glass isn’t completely clean. Gets better when the beer warms up. Flavour is light tart, funky, Brettanomyces, barn, light malty, caramel, nuts, apples, light floral, firm bitter finish. Light-bodied, a bit fizzy. Dangerously close but no Orval. It lacks the creamy rich mouthfeel of Orval, feels a tad more watery. Great attempt though.

Dla mnie to mocno srednie piwo. Belgijskie Pale Ale nawet komercyjne sporo smaczniejsze i ladniejsze. Piany natomiast nie mozna sie przyczepic. Ladna i trwala mocno wystaje poza kieliszek. Kolor piwa czerwonawy. Etykieta zabawna, ale w smaku tak sobie. Chmiele wyczuwalne lekko cytrusowe i nawet slodowe. Ale to wszystko wspolgra jakos chaotycznie i nie ma dla mnie sily przebicia niestety.

Draught @ Beer Temple. Clear reddish color, medium sized thick off-white head. aeoma is moderately sourish and pretty fruity. Taste malts, yeast, sourish, sourish fruits. So far it’s nice, but there’s a weird sub-flavor that annoys me, can’t describe it though. Maybe the yeast. Not bad at all though.

hazy dark orange colour, 1 inch creamy yellowish head; aroma of yeast, wine cellar, some caramel and fruits; taste of yeast and hoppy bitterness; very dry mouthfeel (slightly similar to a dry white wine); correct belgian-style ale

Botella de 33 cl en casa noviembre de 2013. Del rincón de la cerveza. Color rubio turbio con espuma blanca persistente. Cuerpo medio. Buena en general, bastante fina en boca y fácil de beber, con toques dulces y un final algo ácido que se mezcla perfectamente con ligero amargor. Buena y perfecta para pasar un buen rato antes de comer. Para repetir en cuanto se pueda.

Bottle from Nina’s Mini Market. Murky amber body with a huge off-white head that gradually settles down. Excellent lacing. Interesting aroma of cloudy cider, star fruit and funky yeast. The flavour doesn’t quite live up to the unusual aroma - lemon, faint peppery spice and a hint of caramel. Medium body with a frothy mouthfeel. Light fizz. A sharp, tangy Belgian Ale. I liked this but there’s not much malt character to it.
