Cock Tavern. Cask. Clear deep reddish brown beer, small pale tan head. Palate is smooth and semi dry. Modest fine carbonation. Mild dark malt base, whisper of coffee and roast. Bitter pine hops over a little orange and red berry fruits. Orange gets stronger toward the dry finish, quite orange squash like. Mild bitter linger. Not bad at all but probably better on Keg.

Cask at the cock tavern. Dark brown / black with a patchy light tan head. Aroma is burnt grass, pine hop and ashy roast. Like a black IPA on the nose. Flavour is choc, ashy roast, citrus lemon and pine needle hop. Lasting clean bitter hop lingers. Palate is medium light body, moderate low cask condition and a very dry finish. Very tasty black IPA.

Cask at the Cock, 09/10/14. Exremely dark mahogany brown with a decent tan covering that clears to a swirl and thick edgeing. Nose is pine, earthy hop, brown sugars, tropical fruit fumeage, hint of coffee, roasty toasty. Taste comprises pine bite, faint soap, candied sugars, brown bread, toffee. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, sweet and bitter tones in the close with bitter roastyness. Decent hoppy brown, I’m with LKS, has a definate CDA lilt.

Cask at the Cock Tavern - London. Pours black-brown with a frothy tan head. Strong roasted malt nose with heavynotea of burnt pine, some orange rind. Medium sweet flavor with stury bitter brt pine an grass, some scorched earth, ripe citrus, charcoal. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Finishes somewhat resinous and piney with more charcoal, bittersweet cocoa, earth, minerals, citrus rind, grapefruit pith. Pretty damn hoppy, and pretty damn roasty. More like a black IPA or perhaps a stout rather than a brown ale. Regardless, solid beer.
