Lucky SOB is an Irish Red for those whose lives always fall into place…and also for the rest of us who curse those blessed bastards. Brewed with real four-leaf clovers, it is perfectly poised to bring the “Luck of the Irish” to those who drink it. With a rich amber color, its toasted and honey malt flavors are balanced with a subtle hop bite. Not to mention that its clean and refreshing finish is the perfect accompaniment to chants of “Erin Go Braugh.”

Mild malt and cherries nose. Tea colored, medium yellow head. Malt then hay. Dry, mild. Light body, easy carbonation. Either I’m finally developing an appreciation for this style, or this wasn’t half bad.

Bottle, Ship in a Bottle, West Kirby. Poured a reddish amber colour with a middling foamy white head. Very muted aroma, vague fruits and cardboard. Flavour was sweet malty with notes of grain and metal. On the thin side. Disappointing. The great Steadman artwork is worthy of a far better beer than this.

bottle - Pours amber with a one finger light tan head and an aroma of toasted caramel malt. It tastes mainly sweet with mild toasted character and a hint of hops. It’s medium bodied and overall average in every way.

Bottle from Appellation Wines Comely Bank. Appearance - amber with a nice creamy head. Nose - a touch of red fruit with some smoky spicy malt. Taste - caramel and bran cereal. Palate - light to medium bodied with a creamy yet dry texture and a fairly balanced dry finish. Overall - a good Irish red ale. Great prose on the bottle.

330ml bottle from The Real Ale Shop, Newark. Colour is a reddish amber with a small off-white head. Aroma is a fruity malty caramel with hops. Fruity sweetish malty caramel flavour again with slight hoppiness.
