Two Hemispheres IPA brings together Australian Galaxy hops and American Citra "fresh hops" in a beer that has our brewery team very excited and very thirsty. This amber-orange beer aims an intense hop-derived fruit aroma straight at both nostrils with Galaxy providing citrus and passionfruit and Citra bring even more orange/citrus plus pineapple, guava, mango. The 150 pounds of freshly picked, never dried, Citra hops were added after fermentation completed in a "wet-hop" process that brings out the most delicate volatile hop aromas along with fresh herbal notes. The flavor is hop balanced with sharp hop bitterness balancing the hop fruit and juicy British malt character. For all the fruity hop excesses, the finish is dry and complexly herbal, with one sip demanding another. This beer will be available for a very limited time.

On draft at the brewpub it is a cloudy amber with a slight head. The aroma is citrus and the taste has a flavor of oysters and also the addition of citrus like grapefruit

4 oz draft pour at Mad Fox. Clear yellow with off-white head. Aromas of tropical and citrus fruits, mostly tropical. Tastes of big tropical fruit, citrus, floral notes. Medium body with a dry finish. Probably my favorite of Mad Fox’s IPAs besides Orange Whip.

Pours from the growler a hazy, burnt orange with a creamy, lacing white head. Nose is really nice, zesty hops, garlic, earthy, pine needles, lemons, sticky hops. Flavor is sweet, limes, lemons, pine needles, leafy vegetables, candy, sour grapefruit. Full bodied, sweet, sticky, piney finish.

Draft sample at the 2011 Fall NOVA Beerfest, 10/22/11. Pours a hazy orange color with a large creamy offwhite head. Good head retention. Aroma of earthy, floral, tropical and citrus hops. The taste is big fruity notes, floral, tropical and citrus hops, caramel malts. Medium bodied. Definitely hop forward but a beautiful hop profile and balanced well enough. Best beer I had at the festival, easily.

Two hemispheres poured a orange color wispy white head. Heavy aromas of citra hop, something a bit offensive, but mostly masked by the citrus aromas. Flavor is citrus, but mostly earthy.
