Flipside is an easy-drinking IPA with the perfect balance between hops and malt. It features just enough smooth and slightly sweet malt body to support huge citrusy and tropical fruit-forward hop flavors from Simcoe, Citra, and Centennial hops.

Earl of Essex. Keg. Clear deep amber beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is a little airy and is minerally crisp. Mildly creamy malts, unsweet toffee streak. Hops are thin marmalade with a crisp floral bitterness on top. Finishes light. Decent bitter linger. Very easy drinking.

This is a surprisingly un-American red ale, with quite a muted hop presence. The nose is toffee, biscuit and a tiny bit of cherry, with some late hop notes. In the mouth, the hops are quite bitter on the sides of the tongue. The malt is heavy on the tongue and there’s a good length to it. It’s a little safer than I expect from Sierra Nevada but certainly a nice beer.

Keg at the Smokehouse. It pours deep ruby-brown with a decent beige head. The nose is soft, juicy, tangerine, grapefruit, blood orange, toast and wood. The taste is bitter, woody, leather, red fruits, mild toffee, resin, red grapefruit, tangerine and a touch of spice with a dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Rather nice balance. Well rounded and quaffable.
