Leute Bokbier was first brewed in 1927. It was then called Leutebock and was a lager (bottom fermentation), a completely different beer than the current one. Production was stopped after a number of years. In 1997, 70 years later, Leute Bokbier was relaunched as a completely different beer.
Fun fact: the name “bokbier” does not refer to bokbier, but literally to the ''bok'' or buck.

27/02/2016 @home - 33cl bottle bought by a friend. Dark brown with nice tanned head. Nose is grains, light roastedness, caramel. Taste is very malty, light caramel, not overly sweet a bit alcoholic in the end

Marrón oscura. Espuma beige. Aroma tostado, alguna nota de anís y de café. Cuerpo moderado / ligero. Gas escaso. Ligera de paso en boca. Muy malteada, tostada, ahumada. El lúpulo aporta notas terrosas. Alcohol bien disimulado. Le falta algo de carácter, es un poco plana. Pero no está mal.

Flaska från Saveur Bieré. Smak och doft av torkad frukt, karamell, humle, malt, brunt socker, röda bär. Lagom sötma, rund och len, lätt kolsyra och beska. Gott!

0,33l from bottle at känguruh pub vienna, shared by a friend. Brown hazy color, small off-white head. Smells roasted, light liqueur, fruits, raisins. Full body, soft carbonation, slick mouthfeel. Tastes of spices, very light roast, citric, light acidic, some sweetness, honey, plums. Finishes with sweetness & plums. Decent, overall taste is a bit messy. 7, 4, 6, 3, 13

Barwa ciemnobursztynowa, brunatna, całkiem klarowne. Aromat opiekanych słodów, ciasta, wyczuwalny alkohol. W smaku dość słodkie, przypalone ciasto biszkoptowe, skórka od chleba, karmel. Treściwość w porządku, goryczka zaznaczona, trochę alkoholowy i nieco za bardzo nasycony dwutlenkiem węgla. Porządne piwo, choć mogło być nieco lepiej.

Zwart bier met veel schuim. Smaak is bitter hoppig, chokolade en licht caramel. Smaak blijft redelijk lang hangen. Natuurlijk gedronken uit het speciale aparte Leute glas.

Barwa:ciemny rubin, klarowne. Piana:beżowa obfita średnio pęcherzykowa, zredukowała się po pewnym czasie do cienkiej warstwy zdobiąc szkło. Aromat:skórki chleba, palone słody, nuty owocowe, drożdże. Smak: podobny do aromatu z lekką wytrawnością. Goryczki prawie brak, wysycenie średnio wysokie. Stawiałem że będzie słabo a jest dobrze, całkiem smaczne, chociaż jak już koźlaki to tylko rauch.

Flaska Saveur-biere. En gång har jag druckigt Bokbier på fat ur det snygga glaset med rund botten. Dags att prova på flaska. Skummar lite ur flaskan när den öppnas. Klar mahognybrun färg med smutsbeige småbubbligt skum. Söta maltiga dofter och smaker, lite lik en dubbelbock och bokbier är väl en överjäst variant av stilen. Trevlig och inte för tung och söt utan relativt lättdrucken mer brödig med lite jästtouch, torv (dock ej rökig) och torkade äpplen. Trevlig.
