12 oz bottle. Pours black with a tan head. Dark cocoa brown sugar aroma. Cocoa and molasses flavor, cream and light coffee, with touches of raisin. Not bad.

Bottle. Inky black with largish spongy beige head, mocha aroma with a hint of cardamom, low carbonation, slightly sweet mocha taste, long finish with alcohol aftertaste. The alcohol taste has not been fully repressed.

bottle - Pours black with a small tan head. It smells of dark roast malt, chocolate, and some coffee. It tastes similar with a solid balance of sweet malt and bitterness from ample hops with a finishing roasted character. Full bodied. Really good.

12 ounce bottle into snifter, bottled on 1/20/2015. Pours fairly pitch black color with a 1-2 finger dense light khaki head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice dense soapy lacing clings around the glass, with some light streaming carbonation. Aromas of dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, toast, molasses, light char, raisin, plum, light smoke, and roast/smokey earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/roasted malt and moderate dark fruit notes; with good strength. Taste of big dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, brown sugar, toast, molasses, light char/smoke, light raisin/plum, and roast/smokey earthiness. Fair amount roast/char bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, brown sugar, toast, molasses, light char, light dark fruit, and roast/smokey earthiness on the finish for a while. Damn nice complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roasted malt and light dark fruit flavors; with a great roasted bitterness/sweetness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Light-medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a very smooth, creamy, and lightly sticky/chalky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with only a small warming present after the finish. Overall this is a damn nice Russian imperial stout style. All around great robustness, balance, and complexity of dark/roasted malt and light dark fruit flavors; and very smooth to sip on for the ABV. A very enjoyable offering.

Bottle pour to snifter. Nice looking dark color, little head. Taste evolves: roast coffee, sweet cocoa, maple syrup. Smooth all the way and no high ABV booziness. All round good imperial stout.
