Keg at Albion - NYC. Pours deep black-brown with a nice, creamy beige head. Good roast in the nose, cocoa for sure. Medium sweet flavour with a little ashy roast, more baking cocoa, old leather. Medium bodied with fine carbonation and creamy texture. Great balance in the finish, with light ash, further cocoa, rich dark chocolate. Excellent stout.

Draught @ Albion. Opaque dark brown with small creamy tan head, faint roasted malt aroma, medium carbonation, burnt/roasted malt taste, thick oily texture, medium bitter finish. Nice and thick stout.

Tap at Draught 55 there is nothing like a thick stout on an incredibly humid July afternoon. Muddy dark brown pour with thin head. Nose is rich chocolate. Tastes of dark chocolate, molasses, heavy cream, earthy bitters, dark fruit, root beer, and tobacco smoke. Thick chewy mouthfeel.

Location: Sampled at TapNY, 4/26/14
Aroma: The nose is sweetish, some caramel, roast, and a little chocolate
Appearance: This one pours a murky dark brownish color with a medium brown head
Flavor: The flavor is similar, with roasted malt, some caramel, and chocolate sweetness
Palate: The body is medium, with a somewhat creamy mouthfeel, and an average carbonation
Overall Impression: I thought this was a pretty solid stout. This was my favorite of the Gun Hill beers that they were offering at the festival. I look forward to seeing how these guys progress.
