This Black Pale Ale offers a smooth and complex contrast of dark chocolate and roasted malt flavors with bright and tropical guava, mango and pear hop flavors and aromas. Three different American malts stand up to generous amounts of West Coast El Dorado and Citra hops in an unfiltered and unpasteurized ale. Finally, it is aged in oak Scorpion Mezcal barrels from Oaxaca, Mexico for several months to impart a unique smokey, charred oak and roasted agave finish.

Whole Foods Williamsburg tap: pours black with a beige head. Aroma is mezcal, smoke, light hints of chocolate. Taste is lightly hinted of the mezcals. Roasty finish. Medium bitterness. Interesting.

Draught @ The Bronx Brewery Taproom. Opaque dark brown with small creamy tan head, strong mezcal aroma, low carbonation, slightly sweet mocha-sour cherry taste with strong alcohol fumes, medium finish with alcohol aftertaste. This is like tequila shot in beer!
