Very dark brown coloured body with a thick, five to six centimetre tall, microfoamed, deep brown head, sort of like cream on top of a black coffee - this is much darker and deeper across the board than I was expecting. Aroma is deep too, with tons of caramelised sugars, nuts, toffee, grain, oatmeal and woodsie/earthy scents that are deep, but seemingly pungent throughout here. Medium-bodied; Fairly rich malts shine through here with a grainy, toffeey and earthy, dry and nutty finish, all with some noticeable hops, but nothing incredibly bitter or deep - they are there for balance and don't seem to contribute much here. Aftertaste is crisp, very dry, but super malt-focused, especially on the earthy and caramely-side of things with a stronger metallic and dry bitterness on the end, from the hops. Overall, a bit deeper in colour than I was expecting, way stronger in malt and nuttiness than I had hoped for, but all things considered, this isn't a bad 'red IPA' or 'Cascadian Dark', it's just more of a brown ale overall to me. Nice to try from New York and fresh on a sacred day here and in New York, of course. I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from Whole Foods in New York (Columbus Circle), New York on 22-August-2021 for US$5,99, canned on 10-August-2021 and sampled just over a month later, on the 20th anniversary of the September 11th attacks in 2001, sampled at my house, just a few blocks from the Pentagon in Washington on 11-September-2021.

Can. Amber body with off-white head. Aroma of pine, citrus, caramel, grapefruit. toasted grain. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and moderately bitter. Medium body, watery/syrupy texture, lively carbonation. Lots of malts in the backbone — caramel and toffee, amber-ale like. Floral and pine hops taste.

Draft at the brewpub. Murky caramel-amber color with some fairly strong lacework. Alcohol phenolics, wood / pine, Belgian yeast, bit of grains, malts, and a little rye. Okay, but as an IPA, not really doing what I wanted it to.

Moonlight Mile, Brooklyn tap: pours clear copper with a white head. Aroma is rye, pine, and a light fruitiness. Taste is moderately bitter. Definitely a bunch of rye doing rye stuff. Rye aftertaste. Not a bad ryePA. It ain’t nothing special though.

A reddish copper ale with a thin off white head. In aroma, sweet fruity caramel malt with loads of citrusy floral hops, resinous and piney, very nice. In mouth, a nice caramel malt with loads of resinous floral hops, treacle, very nice and balanced. On tap at brewery.

Tap @The Ginger Man, NYC as "Greenpoint Flanned Shirt"
Dark red color, good creamy beige head. Caramel, berries in the nose. Medium-bodied. Gooseberry bush, berries, some caramel and even herbal touch in the flavor. Weird hop oily kick but somewhat likeable.
