Bottle, courtesy of fonefan. The beer pours a clear, copper body and an off-white to beige head. The aroma has bread, toffee, fruity and slighlty spicy hops. Smooth carbonation, medium body, and a bready, fruity flavor that lacks a bit on bitterness I think. Quite dry, finishing with a pleasant bitternes and bready malts. A beer that drinks easily, but is too boring to wake any interest. 110416

14th April 2010. Clear amber beer. Softish light palate. A little dry. Nice orange pineapple fruit but torpedoed by sulfur. Finishes the same way. A shame - so nearly a good beer but the sulfur persistently detracts.

[Cask at the Monks Retreat, Reading] Nice deep amber with a moderate white head. Rich malts, toffee, oranges and plums. Finish is a bit sour and dirty, but generally a decent enough ESB.

Cask handpull at The County Hotel, JDW, Ashford. Copper brown colour with lasting thick creamy head. Some yeast, quite nutty in fact on aroma. Hazelnut. I thought it was fine. Bit of sting on finish. Had worse beers this festival. I mean it’s a bitter. Bit yeasty on finish too.
