Bottle. So when I have a DIPA this good in a bottle, I have to rethink how often I want to buy a DIPA from a bottle. Normally I only want them on draft ( or freshly canned locals). Today I had two really nice bottled DIPA’s with questionable bottling dates that really have me shocked. I’m a confused individual about my IPA’s. This rant is for nobody but my own personal notes.

Aroma is tropical fruits, mild grass and subtle citrus. The flavor shows very nice balance yet still has the assertive hop punch and bitterness. Light floral upfront turning into tropical fruit and rounded out by citrus and just a mild touch of pine. Slightly dry texture with a minor hint of alcohol found in the tail end of the sip. A little bit of sugar found and a mild syrupy feeling. Overall I would seek this out on draft and would sample again happily.

Bomber from a case bought at work. Aroma is grapefruit, stinky caramel malt, candied citrus, flowers, perfume. Pours hazy orange with an off-white head with great retention; leaves some cobwebby lace. Taste is highly bitter with some candy sweetness backing it up. Flavors of citrus, cooked vegetables, alcohol. Not my kind of IPA.

On tap at Pies & Pints Morgantown. Deep gold with medium white head. Aroma is herbal hops, medium/thick body, medium carbonation, and little small-bubble lacing. Taste is dank, some herbal hops and bitter hops. Lots of hop flavors in this one.

Shared bomber, shaker glass. Murky medium brown. Slick, bitter malty palate covers the high ABV. Not something I would drink a lot of but I enjoyed it.

Boozy and floral. Comes together well. A little bitterness in the finish with some sweetness. Golden pour with good head and lacing. Tap at Churchkey.

Bottle from Bottle Shop at home. Bright orange translucent pour. Big resinous hops aroma. Taste is similarly very big - resin, vegetal, a bit sour. Very bitter, boozy finish. Not the most drinkable but not bad. Not sure I'd get again.
