Very dark purple colour. Deep currant aroma, it also smells like soap bar; it's syrupy sweet, the lovely part of currant is the astringency, deep currant jam flavour, balanced acidity. Too perfumey, but god, do I love a currant mead.

375ml on Brian's deck. Appearance: brown with purple notes. Aroma: lots of black currants and honey. Taste: supersweet and quite sour with lots of black currants, dark sweet cherries, and honey. Overall: very nice!

Pale purple. On the nose, it's got a lot of berry - blueberry and blackberry in particular. There's some tart cherry as well, so it's nice that all fruits are on the nose. On the palate, it's basically tart, cherries for sure, and then there's more of the dark berry notes. A touch of vanilla, quite tart, but there's also some rich clover honey notes. Nothing traditional, but I like this.

375mL bottle, pours a deep dark mahogany, no head. Aroma reveals intense dark cherries, dark currant, honey and a hint of vanilla. Flavour is full of dark currants and dark cherries upfront, with decadent honey, and a hint of vanilla. The dark cherries and currants are wonderfully rich and complex. Lovely.

Deep purple. Deep berries and some sweetness. Sour berry, fleshy cherry and a long sweet and touch of sourness.

Bottle thanks to Derek. Pours a dark purple with no head.The aroma is berry, earth, oak. Slick body, currant, berry, vanilla, nice sweetness, light booze, very nice.
