Kopi Luwak is one of the World's most expensive and rare coffee varieties. The beans are specifically selected for their ripeness and quality by the civet, a small jungle marsupial that feeds off the fruit of the coffee cherry. They are then gathered by humans from the jungle floors of Indonesia, thoroughly cleaned, and sun-dried. A precise roasting by San Diego's Ryan Bros. Coffee leads to an extremely aromatic and an exceptionally smooth final product that complements this barrel-aged imperial stout amazingly well. Good to the last dropping.

750 ml bottle shared by Adam Jackson. Dude you are a rockstar! Nose is sweet notes of bourbon, chocolate and light woody tones. Flavor is chocolate, followed by sweet mellow bourbon. Coffee is only just a hint toward the finish. Earthy notes for sure throughout the sip. For a 12 % imperial stout the ABV is truly hidden well. Just a bit after a good mouth swish. Notes of vanilla and raisins. If your lucky enough to get to try this hard to find version, it is wonderful. It maybe good to the last drop.

Bottle shared by Doug, thanks
Appearance: Black with a small tan head and light lacing
Aroma: Woody, oak, bourbon and coffee
Taste: Roasted malts, bourbon, oak, leather and spices
Nice and smooth. I did like the non-barrel aged a little better though, the barrel seemed to thin it out.

First thing, thanks to Stawn! The bottle is amazing, the whole packaging is great. Pours a jet black color with a large deep brown color. A big nose of whiskey and coffee. The flavor is excellent with big hot barrels and whiskey, deep roasted coffee, some vanilla, chocolate. A bit hot and astringent at times from the barrel and that will mellow. Very damn good though as always from AleSmith!

Huge tip of the cap to my main man Hopscotch for sharing this beast. Sweet bourbon nose. Dark brown/black pour with a chocolate head. Good lacing. A real stunner with sweet chocolate, caramel, and smooth bourbon highlights. Perfect mouthfeel and balance with vanilla, oak, and expresso undercurrents. The barrel aging of this beer makes such an unbelievable difference. WOW......

Bottle. Pours with a pitch black hued body with a large white head, great lace and some alcohol legs. Aromas are intense earthy and nutty coffee, rich chocolate, vanillin and a refined barrel character. Mild dark fruits, ash and char. Some soil and biscotti. Complex and refined. Flavors of barrel, fudge, tobacco and coffee, some nice alcohol burn (not fusel, but more a pleasant heat), nougat, char. Vanilla. Richly layered. The star of this beer is the ridiculously luscious mouthfeel, full bodied, rich, velvety and mouth coating with creamy carbonation, but enough alcohol and wood tannin to keep it in check. Well done, as are most batches of BA Speedway and Kopi Speedway.

Bottle with many thanks to Stefan. Shared at tasting at my house with Jay, Brian, Ashley, Ramy, Yanick, Shay and Lorraine. Pours midnight black with dark brown head. Nose is rich organic coffee, baked chocolate bread, roast chocolate malt, oak, bourbon barrel and roast rich chocolate. Great balance with the barrel aging as the bourbon melds seamlessly into the beer though it might have muted out the coffee a touch. Overall, a world class beer.
