Brown Ale aged in used Pinot Noir barrels from local Sonoma County wineries. It is aged for about 12 months with sour cherries, brettanomyces, lactobacillus, and pediococcus added to each barrel. Flavors from the cherries, Pinot Noir and oak balance each other nicely with a little funk from the brett.

Bottle from Solan, thanks! Orange pinkish color. Cherries, marzipan, leather, oak and grapefruit in the aroma. Sour flavor with oak, hint of cherries and leather. Dry out effect in the aftertaste with leather, caramel, plastic and grapefruit. Astonishing complex, great beer.

Bottle from Whole Foods, drank on 14th of March in SF. Pours dark red. Nose is sour cherry jam, strawberry, red grapes, raspberry, cherry joghurt. Palate is oomphy sour cherry, joghurt, raspberry, red grapes, agave, blood orange. This is so well made!! This is the kind of Sour Red Browns I love.

Thank you Chris for sharing this bottle - Hazy reddish with a pinkish head - Sour wood aroma with some berries - Sour malt and wood flavour with some berry notes - The sour berry and wood flaovurs goes into the finish - This was good

Flaska från trade, vintage 2016. Riktigt murken brunröd med liten smutsvit krona. Riktigt funkig i aromen med lite brettiga och gräsiga toner jämte en distinkt ton av urinoar och blött hö. I smaken lite mer kola, ganska stor skalbeska och lite vassa toner av funk, stall och ekfat. Lätt vinfatston, äppelskal, skal och kärnor från druvor, aprikos och stenfrukt. Inte helt vad jag väntat mig och lite svårt att placera. Lite spretig!

Some wine and cherry. Plum and apricot. Pours maroon with decent head. Tangy end with some tannins. Bottle at Monks Cafe.
