Tap @ Mikkeller bar, Warsaw May 2018. Dark brown body with a small, lacing beige head. Aroma is wonderful, rich, smooth and vinous alcoholic with dark malt, coffee, dry fruit and hint of wood. Flavor is rather sweet in a balancing, warm alcoholic way, strong malt, some caramel, dark chocolate, roasted coffee, dry fruit, red berries, warming alcohol and a wooden touch. Full bodied and long lasting aftertaste. A fantastic BA version of an already classic. A wonderful beer for sipping by hours.

750ml bottle at share. Dark brown pour with small beige foamy head. Fruity aroma, dark pit fruit, oak, wine notes. Taste is sweet, mildly funky, plums, prunes, wine barrel, red grapes.Likely past it's prime, but still good.

750mL bottled 2016, drunk 9/30/23 at SP 10th line share. Clear dark, purple-tinted mahogany. Small ring of bubbles. Nose is so rich and soft with not too much grapiness. What's there is mellow and shows wood and mineral with plentiful Belgian house yeast character, light phenols and plentiful fruity esters. Mix of chocolate, vanilla, biscuit and cocoa from the malts. No alcohol noted. Soft, malty, well-attenuated. Rich but well-aged and softened port notes have no grapey edge. No excess or unrefined sugars here. Lovely malts, wood, gentle wine-like sweetness and a mineral and yeast finish.

2011 vintage bottled 2016. Rocky off white head stayed on a deep mahogany coloured body. Port, raisin & spiced fruits aroma. Medium bodied, smooth & thinner on the cloying finish. Raisins, plum, port & woody tastes with a tangy finish with minimal alcohol presence. Maybe I've stored this too long.....
