Introducing Saison Dolores, Almanac’s newest year-round beer. A bright, aromatic brew for all seasons inspired by San Francisco’s Mission District. We combine barley, rye and Sonoran Wheat grown in Mendocino County and ferment the beer with our house Saison yeast. Finally we dry hop it to create a California Saison with flavors of spicy white pepper, fruity melon and a clean food friendly finish.
Enjoy this lively aromatic farmhouse ale with fresh seafood, funky washed rind cheeses and classic french-style charcuterie.
Canned version introduced in 2016 part of the fresh beer series, brewed and canned in San Francisco at Fort Point.

Clear golden with a white head. A nice dry farmhouse profile with medium fruity notes, lightly spicy, pepper. Medium dry finish with a bit of lemon. Not a huge saison but it’s simplicity makes it quite drinkable. Simple and enjoyable.

Tap @ Fermentoren, Aarhus. Clear golden with an off-white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, fruity, yeasty and light spicy. Flavor is quite sweet and moderate bitter. Dry and moderate bitter finish. 270415

Draught @ Fermentoren, Aarhus. Pours a hezy yellow with creamy white head. Aroma of light malt, light grain, yeast, light sourness, nice fruity hops. tropical fruits, light citrus. Flavor is light sour, light malty, yeast, fruity, hints of rye. Medium body, lively carbonation. Nice and refreshing. 260415

Draft @ Hoppy Loft. Dorée, paille, col épais blanc. Arôme offre un bouquet assez présent de levure belge, à la Dupont. Note rétro-nasal dominante de grains avec des effluves de houblons nobles en rétro. Palais reste également centré sur une approche on ne peut plus belge. Levure contenant pas mal d’esters fruités avec un léger relevé épicé.Le palais reste très sec, légèrement rustique avec une impression d’abbaye plus que de saison.

Bottle @ my parent’s house, picked up at 287 Liquor. Pours a lightly hazy yellow golden appearance with a big, off white head. The aroma has some bubblegum, lemon, straw, light spice, and grass. Pretty high carbonation. Moderate low sweetness and bitterness. Lots of candy and bubblegum in the flavor along with some pepper, lemon, and melon. Kind of weirdly spicy. Ok but not my favorite.
