Dry hopped saison brewed with local rye and wheat.
Introducing Saison Dolores, Almanac’s newest year-round beer. A bright, aromatic brew for all seasons inspired by San Francisco’s Mission District. We combine barley, rye and Sonoran Wheat grown in Mendocino County and ferment the beer with our house Saison yeast. Finally we dry hop it to create a California Saison with flavors of spicy white pepper, fruity melon and a clean food friendly finish.
Enjoy this lively aromatic farmhouse ale with fresh seafood, funky washed rind cheeses and classic french-style charcuterie.
Canned version introduced in 2016 part of the fresh beer series, brewed and canned in San Francisco at Fort Point.

Thanks for sharing. Sampled draft @ Beer Temple during Carnivale Brettanomyces #4. Hazy golden, creamy white. Nose is esters, yeast, white sugar, grain, quite BE & rather dull. Taste is banana, sweet sugary banana, white sugar, candy, yoghurt yeast & white bread. White dough & sugar body. Perfectly made but quite dull and overly BE in character. Okay but I def. expected more from this one.

At BeerTemple, Amsterdam. Farmhouse ale with moussy, medium thick, stable, cream white head and cloudy yellow blonde with somewhat greenish hue. Aroma of apple, straw, white bread, unripe pear, sweaty grains (the rye?) and clear wheat. Crisp fruity onset, pear, even an impression of apple cider, soft sweetishness, bit honeyish with a dull sourish wheat accent, somewhat soapy, bit yeasty in the end, bready, with nice peppery and slightly citrussy hop bitterness. Not bad as such, but not quite up to the standard saisons are usually aimed at nowadays.

Draught @ Beer Temple, Amsterdam. Aroma has peaches, hayish grain and fruit candy. Also some funky yeastyness. Foamy palate. Flavour has urinal tones, peaches, some apricot, tart citron and minerals. Finishes with some menthol and mint. Quite rich but then again a bit stuffy.

Hazy orange color with small white head. Aroma is doughy, malty, a bit hoppy, toffee. Taste is spicy, doughy, some booze, some bitterness, some honey, herbal. Soft carbonation. A bit unbalanced for a Saison, a bit of a stronger character than you would expect. Still nice.

Draught @ BrewDog Gbg. Pours hazy tiny burnt deep yellow with a creamy frothy offwhite head that doesn’t leave much trace in the glass while dissipating. Smell is slightly malty, fruity and tiny volatile with crackers, cookie dough, pears, peaches, marzipan, grapes, hay, minerals and hints of overripe lemons and chlorine. Taste is sweet, tiny sour, fruity and slightly spicy phenolic. Mouthfeel is crisp, sparkling, champagne-like, tiny dry, tiny astringent and medium bodied. Finish is tiny sweet, bitter and tiny sour with crackers, grapes, pears, hay, dry soil, white pepper corns, lemon zest and hints of alcohol. Bit volatile...

Bottle from Bier:Thirty. Nice from the get-go, pours out a dark yellow with fluffy head, which lasts into little creamy clumps. Herbal, floral, spicy aroma, taste brings in some mustiness, but tingles the tongue. Spiciness remains on the palate. Pretty accurate rendition.

Bomber. Aroma is dusty, lemon, seedy berries, funky, earthy--everything I want in a saison. Pours hazy golden with a large bone-white fluffy head with excellent retention; laces nicely. Taste is sweet, savory, lightly tart, earthy; dry lightly hoppy peppery finish. Mouthfeel is creamy, carbonation fairly soft. Really tasty and interesting.
