(Draught at Stockholm Beer Festival, 26 Sep 2009) Dark amber colour with brief, beige head. Malty, fruity nose with notes of caramel, orange, earthy hops and a touch of smoke. Malty, fruity taste with caramel, orange and earthy hops in a well balanced, fairly bitter finish. Slightly above medium body, some malt sweetness. Nice and tasty.

Bottle. Medium brown with a bit of amber. Medium head. Slightly roasted amber malt and yeast aroma. Roasted caramel malt flavor. Nutty, with some caramel and coffee. Nicely balanced, dry ale. Not extremely memorable or original, but good enough.

(35.5cl bottle, as FD K-9 Cruiser Winter Ale) Clear, amber colour with a thick beige foamy head. Sweet and slightly toasted malty aroma with caramel, nutty accents, shy herbal hops and a tinge of alcohol. Sweet and slightly bitter flavour, medium bodied with a moderate carbonation. Solid toasty malty taste with notes of caramel and a subtle fruity (cherry) note, combined with traces of cacao/chocolate; sweet and slightly bitter malt-accented and moderately toasted finish with lighter hoppy influences and again notes of alcohol. Not perfectly rounded but has some potential (18.VIII.09).

Bottle, 12oz. A clear, copper-colored beer with a small, off-white head. Nice nose with caramel, malts and fine, resiny hops. Rather bitter flavor with some caramel. Sort of lacking complexity, still nice, and more interesting than the aroma. Full-bodied, almost astringently bitter. Long, resiny, bitter finish. A beer that maybe is a bit too straight forward, but I like it anyway. (090430)

33cl bottle clear brown, small thick vanilla cream like light brown head. very nice hoppy yet balanced aroma. american hops clearly present, grape, pine. also sweetness, great aroma. flavor is malty caramel sweetness, hidden behind quite some hops. tastes great. well balanced --- vintage bottle, flying dog seasonal 6.4% 30IBU as k-9 cruiser WINTER ALE . 786243111917 best before end 23-9-2010. clear amber brown, smooth offwhite head, quite large. aroma is dusty hops, sourish nutty notes, flowery hoppy notes, malts. except for a faint citrussy sourness and the dusty hops, it seems not to have taken major hits to the aroma over the years. Flavor is quite malty, dry, mild dose of cristmas spices like browncake spices but not that peppery.hops do a good job at putting a nice bitter balance to the swetish malty note. Beer tastes fresh and unspoiled, has aged quite well indeed.
